Ikimi River Dam was built on the Ikimi River, a tributary of Nishiki River. Its full-scale construction was started in 1977 and was finished in March 1984.

Ikimi River Dam was completed approximately 15 years after the start of full research. With its capacity of 30.8 million tons of water, it provides such functions as flood control, maintaining proper water stream, and supplying water for both industries and power generation.

It is about a three-minute drive to this dam, heading toward Miwa town from Kogou Bridge on Route 187.
